Scary Hours. (The Paranormal & A Few Thoughts On Halloween)
Halloween 2025 is here and as I write this, there are thousands of people, just in my neighborhood alone, who are almost ready to go trick or treating.
Neighborhoods are being mapped out for who gives the best candy, who gives out the most candy & whose house hands out raisins & licorice(which should be federally prosecuted.)
And all of my fellow parents are plotting out which candies that they’ll take for themselves (parent tax, sorry kids.)
Lately, there’s been a big discussion of whether Christians should participate in the day at all. Some say yes, others say absolutely not.
Now, is there anything wrong or sinful with getting candy from your neighbors? Probably not, except the harm it does to your teeth.
And if you understand the original meaning behind Halloween, which was/is a Catholic holiday & Reformation Day, then you’ll learn that Halloween has been blatantly hijacked.
So on the surface, it’s a regular day with too much sugar. But caution should be observed. Pagan & occult practices are observed on Halloween.
And for as much as some try to dismiss it, there’s a real spiritual war happening all around us…
I’ve had my own experiences with the paranormal (terrifying dreams where I couldn’t breathe, dreams where I was being haunted or chased endlessly, dreams of hearing threats on my life from voices I didn’t know & more.)
I’ve even experienced a dark force literally trying to close my mouth in the middle of the night as I was singing Christian songs.
So Halloween should come with a warning that darkness shouldn’t ever, ever be celebrated. And yet in the midst of that, the Truth remains.
Jesus Christ has defeated evil & darkness eternally. And as a Christian, I’m commanded to let my light wisely shine to everyone, at all times. Especially on days like today.
So whether someone knocks on my door asking for candy or my family goes into the neighborhood, we will do our best to point people to the One who crushed evil forever.
All while enjoying a Twix bar or two.
